GIS and Asset Management Technician

The Municipal District of Willow Creek is searching for a GIS and Asset Management Technician to help keep our community informed, connected, and ahead of the curve! The primary duties of this position include:
- Implement and manage the Asset Management Program: Coordinate with stakeholders to establish processes aligned with the Municipality’s Asset Management Policy, evaluate and maintain records of asset management documents, develop and train department staff on asset management processes, and attend asset management events and report progress to the Director of Infrastructure and Director of IT and GIS.
- Manage Asset Management Software (PSD Citywide): Advance and ensure Asset Management processes are utilizing the Municipality’s Asset Management software as a central place of business.
- Manage GIS database (ESRI): Ensure database processes meet Municipality’s GIS needs and Asset Management objectives, support departments with GIS needs and information access, collaborate with GIS service provider to maintain and update the database, and address internal and external GIS information requests.
- Other duties that provide challenge and variety
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Degree or diploma relevant discipline (GIS and database management, engineering technology, asset management). Equivalent experience and education may be considered.
- Professional certification or designation in Asset Management (e.g., CAMP, IPWEA) is an asset.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in asset management, preferably in a municipal government, oil & gas, mining, or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of asset management principles, practices, and software systems. Familiarity with PSD CityWide is a plus.
- Knowledge of MS SQL, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise Portal, FME, and programming/scripting.
This is a permanent full-time position, salary commensurate with experience.
