PROPOSED BYLAW NO. 2040

Municipal District of Willow Creek No. 26 Council Chambers

 

PURSUANT to sections 216.4, 606, and 692 of the Municipal Government Act, Statutes of Alberta, Chapter M-26, 2000, as amended, the Council of the Municipal District of Willow Creek No. 26 in the Province of Alberta hereby gives notice of its intention to consider Bylaw No. 2040, being an amendment to the existing municipal Land Use Bylaw No. 2025.

 

The purpose of the bylaw is to improve the useability and effectiveness of the land use bylaw by correcting errors, aligning references, adding and amending definitions, adjusting land use allocations, updating standards for dugouts, amending the standards for residential buildings in the flood plain, allowing for private riding arenas and other housekeeping matters, through a single omnibus amendment AND to redesignate lands as follows:

 

1.      Lot 1, Plan 881 0162 within W½ Section 5, Township 8, Range 25, W4M; from Rural Commercial (RC) to Rural General (RG);

2.      Sections 5, 7, 8, 17, 18, 19 & 20, Township 9, Range 27, W4M and portions of S½ Section 6, Township 9, Range 27, W4M; from Public Service (PS) to Rural General (RG);

3.      Sections 1, 2, 11 & 12, Township 9, Range 28, W4M; from Public Service (PS) to Rural General (RG);

4.      Portions of NW¼ 28, NE½ 29, SE¼ 32, SW¼ 33, Township 13, Range 28, W4M; from and to Rural General (RG) from and to Open Space & Public Recreation (OPR).    

 

AND WHEREAS a more detailed scope of changes is provided in a summary document available by request.

 

THEREFORE, TAKE NOTICE THAT a public hearing to contemplate the proposed Bylaw No. 2040 will be held in the Municipal District of Willow Creek No. 26 Council Chambers at 1:00 p.m. on the 14^th day of October 2026. A copy of the proposed bylaw may be inspected at the Municipal District of Willow Creek No. 26 office during normal business hours.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT anyone wishing to participate in the hearing virtually and/or to make an in-person presentation regarding the proposed Bylaw should notify the Chief Administrative Officer no later than 4:00 p.m. on October 12, 2026.  The Council may hear from persons who did not indicate in writing to the Municipal Administrator their intention to make a submission.
