Renewal of Intermunicipal Emergency Services Agreement
The Councils of the Municipal District of Willow Creek, Town of Nanton, Town of Stavely, Town of Claresholm and Town of Fort Macleod are pleased to announce the renewal of the Intermunicipal Emergency Services Agreement, reaffirming their commitment to providing exceptional emergency response services to all citizens across the region.
This agreement ensures a consistent and effective level of service for fire, rescue, and other emergency services to citizens in the MD of Willow Creek. This collaborative approach allows for resource sharing, mutual aid, and enhanced training opportunities for our emergency responders.
What Does "Level of Service" Mean?
The level of service refers to the standard of emergency response provided to the community. It includes factors such as response times, types of incidents attended, and the availability of trained personnel and equipment. Through this renewed agreement, residents can continue to rely on professional, timely, and capable emergency services when they need them most.
Emergency Services by the Numbers
Over the last five years, our five fire departments have collectively:
- Responded to over 3,461 emergency calls, ranging from structure fires and medical responsesto vehicle collisions andwildfires.
- Responded to 337 mutual aid requests to assist partnercommunities.
- Trained 60 firefighters to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, ensuring that responders are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to handle diverse emergency scenarios.
- Had the benefit of long serving members, who as a group bring hundreds of years of knowledge and experience to everysituation.
- Delivered 3,703 hours of instruction, reflecting a strong focus on continual training, skill enhancement, and safety practices.
- Committed 28,880 hours of firefighter’s time totraining.
