Enforcement Services

The Enforcement Services Department is dedicated to promoting public safety, enhancing quality of life, and fostering a safe, respectful and enjoyable community through a balanced approach of education, engagement, and enforcement. The department proudly provides services to the M.D. of Willow Creek, the M.D. of Ranchland, and the Town of Stavely, working in partnership with residents, businesses, community organizations, and other agencies to address concerns and encourage voluntary compliance with the laws and regulations that help keep out communities safe.

Enforcement Services responds to complaints, conducts proactive patrols, investigates concerns, provides public education, and works collaboratively with community members to resolve issues. Our Community Peace Officers enforce municipal bylaws such as nuisance properties, community standards, animal control, and noise, as well as selected provincial legislation, including the Traffic Safety Act and other statutes authorized through their appointments.

Community Peace Officers are provincially appointed law enforcement officers who are granted authority to enforce specific provincial legislation and municipal bylaws within their jurisdiction. Through education, enforcement and community engagement, Community Peace Officer’s play an important role in promoting public safety and helping residents understand their rights and responsibilities.

In addition to enforcement activities, Enforcement Services regularly responds to emergency incidents and provide support to Emergency Services, Police and other law enforcement agencies when required. Whether assisting with traffic control at emergency scenes, supporting public safety initiatives, or coordinating with partner agencies, Enforcement Services is committed to protecting the public and contributing to effective emergency response efforts.

Our goal is to work alongside residents to achieve compliance through education and cooperation whenever possible, while maintaining the ability to take enforcement action when necessary.
