Understanding Municipal Violation Tags vs. Provincial Violation Tickets
Municipal Violation Tags:
A Municipal Violation tag is a notice issued for certain bylaw offences that allows a person to voluntarily resolve the matter by paying a specified penalty or requesting a Provincial Violation Ticket to dispute the allegation.
Provincial Violation Tickets:
Tickets issued under provincial legislation, such as the Traffic Safety Act, are generally payable through the Traffic Tickets Digital Service.
How to pay a tag or ticket.
For Municipal Violation Tags:
Municipal Violation Tags issued under municipal bylaws may be payable through the municipality identified on the ticket or tag. Please review the instructions provided on the ticket or tag, or contact Enforcement Services for assistance.
