Bylaw Enforcement

Municipal Bylaws help protect public safety, support community well-being, and maintain the quality of life enjoyed throughout the community. Enforcement Services works with residents, businesses, and property owners to encourage compliance through education, communication, and enforcement when necessary.

Our Community Peace Officers enforce a variety of municipal bylaws, including those related to community standards, animal control, nuisances and noise. When concerns are reported, officers investigate complaints and work with those involved to achieve timely and effective resolution.

Enforcement Services follows a progressive approach to enforcement, with education and voluntary compliance being the preferred first steps whenever possible. When violations persist, warnings, orders, or violation tickets may be issued as authorized by municipal bylaws.

Property maintenance, unsightly premises, waste accumulation, and other issues that affect neighborhood appearance and livability.

Responsible pet ownership, animals running at large, aggressive animals, and other animal-related concerns.

-  Noise Control:

Excessive or unreasonable noise that disturbs the peace and enjoyment of surrounding properties.
