Engineering Technologist – Infrastructure

Position Description:

 

  • Supporting Asset Management functions throughout the municipality such as:
  • Reporting on service delivery;
  • Service delivery program and system development;
  • Infrastructure condition and functionality inspections and reporting.
  • Gravel pit management and compliance;
  • Alberta environment Water Act compliance;
  • UAV Mapping and quantity calculations;
  • RTK construction surveys;
  • Working with ESRI products;
  • Assist with capital and non-capital project management;
  • Civil construction technical support inclusive of water, sewer, drainage, and transportation;
  • Traffic accommodation strategy reviews;
  • Construction cost estimating;
  • Support Public Works services through technical and operational expertise;
  • Aid in conducting local road bridge inspections;
  • Participate and support of the Health and Safety Program;
  • Public procurement of goods and services through:
  • Request for Quote;
  • Request for Proposals;
  • Tendering.
  • Other duties that provide challenge and variety.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and/or willing to upgrade, other technologist designations 

and/or experience will be considered;

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Municipal/Public Works, environmental or private contracting experience;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the supervision and repairs of road and infrastructure construction;
  • Valid Class 5 Operator's License and/or be willing to upgrade (drivers abstract required with application);
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to work independently with commitment and focus;
  • Alberta Environment Level 1 Water Treatment and Distribution Certification.

 

This is a permanent full-time position, salary commensurate with experience.
